Wow I was not prepared for this..........

Hey guys, so much has happened yet not happened as well, I've been practising these sitting down exercises for 10 mins everyday and i can honestly say i was not prepared for the muscle pain, the tiredness and frustration that goes with it. The urge to just crack on is so great, but the body is useless and like a prison for the mind. In my head i want to workout for hours but the body lets me down over and over again. But i do understand why i can't do more, but it doesn't always help lol.
The next biggest challenge is to come off Tramadol, as it's poison. The shakes and shivers i get just after missing one dose, so you feel like you've got the Flu is ridiculous, then i get all feverish and sweaty yet extremely cold, and super emotional. I'm a fricking junkie because of the Doctor's. The cold turkey is vile and i'm thinking perhaps dropping from 8 per day to 4 per day to nothing was probably too quick, so i will do the whole process much slower now. Mind you, what i think is a cold turkey symptom from Tramadol could very well be just a normal effect off my Warfarin, so who know's?? As the Warfarin makes me tired, and emotional. Coupled with joint pain, sickness and cold feeling, so i can't call it really.
Should of been to Physio by now, but the letter has only just left the Doctors surgery, so who knows. but saying that maybe the later the better as the Hospital is still shut in parts because of the Novovirus (this has been this way since Dec 09) so not really in any hurry to be staying in there for session any time soon. Hopefully as they do physio in my local Doctor's surgery they will let me do it there, as that is down the road and easy to go 3 times a week. No worries i have been keeping my physio up and doing the wii fit exercises and yoga as well, even started to go on the Elliptical Trainer each week too.
If anyone has any ideas about how to drop my Tramadol down to Codeine without the vile headaches and sickness and flu and crying then please let me know, i am desperate.
Need to think about losing my weight, hence another reason to want to workout as much as possible, as the pounds have piled on during the recovery process, and immobility. Another mental block that comes up, as i have to curb my frustrations of my body's failings. And i'm sure i'm still not mentally over the trauma of having the surgery, (which sounds daft as i wanted to have it) But somehow the whole surgery and recovery process has been a long mental battle, and has had me cry many a tear over it, maybe i'm just not over it just yet, but i will be soon i'm sure.

The Best News ever day yesterday, X-ray Appointment

YAY!!!! The bone has grown, i'm so happy in fact i'm buzzing about it. The pelvis is 100% healed and the femur is 60% healed so i can now full weight bear and of course now comes all the hard work. I've obviously got bambi legs so got to do it nice and slowly and build up to getting rid of my crutch, but at least there is an end in sight. Doctor told me to be selfish from now on and put my physio first not housework or sorting children out, so booked in for physio 3 times a week to kick start this next 3 months of hard graft off. But i'm on cloud nine and nothing can bring me down right now.

Oh to make it even better, i told him about the hassle we are having with the tribunal and he has wrote me a scathing letter saying how insulting they are saying that i could work before this surgery, and the fact my surgery wasn't necessary. Also said how the 'medical person/Pen pusher) has no qualifications and has had no correspondence with the Hospital or any of my specialists. So i'm so thankful for that as well, i'm going to copy the letter and send it too my MP as well.

Well i'm off to practise standing up from my chair, and sitting back down with no assistance (gotta do it for 10 mins a few times per day) to strenghten my abductors and various other bits their.

Stockingate saga

WooHoo guys i've finally manage to get some decent ones from the GP no less. It involved ringing up Boots the chemists to ask advice, and the help and support i got from the lady there was second to none. In fact she helped me more than all the co-ag nurses and hospitals and the other chemist, they should feel ashamed really, as they weren't even working to what the NHS direct advises either, You'd think they'd have to at least work on one consistant level, but sadly no!!
Plus my beautiful tights from HappyHealthyLegs are going to come soon as well, so here i come summer time, you can't scare me any longer!! So this is now over and i can rest and relax and focus on other pressing things.
The Rash has now gone, thank goodness as that was proper driving me insane. Not sure what it was but my best guess is my warfrin brand had been changed, and as soon as i swapped it back my symptoms went. The relief is immense and now my legs feel soft and free, especially as these new stockings are more like real stockings but with the same compression, and you can breathe through them. I've gone for a natural tan colour so i can wear dolly shoes once more. My only bugbear is that they're not hold ups like the white ones. So you've got to buy spray on glue or wear a suspender belt (not comfortable) or possiblity tit tape? I tried some industrial tape (don't try it unless your an idiot like me!) It worked a treat though and it was easier to remove than plasters, so i may carry on with that until my spray on glue comes. A friend who wears the same just puts hers on then quickly gets her jeans on so they can't fall down, so i tried this method too. It does work as they don't fall dowm more than an inch due to the compression, so if your wearing leggings or skinny jeans i would reccommend this whole heartedly. I'll let you know about the spray glue or suspender belt when i discover for myself too.

Now just have the dole office to deal with and my tribunal, i hope i have the same success as i did with stockingate xx Happy healing guys xx

Bloody Stockings

Well i can certainly say i hate them, with a vengance!! It all started because i felt itchy on my legs, so i thought it might be my stockings irritating me, or the latex part as the rash and itching feels like an allergic reaction. I want to scratch my skin off, and i do rake it every night unfortunately, but it's so hard to stop. Went to the GP's to ask and got no joy really, she tried to write me a prescription but didn't know any brands to write down, so asked me to pop over to the chemists to ask them, then she could write it and i could try a new brand and hopefully a new colour too, perhaps the itching would go?? Well the damn chemists said with or without a prescription i couldn't have the ones they stock as they are for sale only, i'd have to go back to the hospital for some. But this hospital has already said i must go to the gp, not them. Aaaaarrrggghhh worse thing is i know other girls that are getting dvt stockings and tights on the nhs and in various colours!! So why can't i? they gave me the bloody dvt from neglect and now they can't be arsed to treat me, and worse still they had all overlooked the fact i'd had a stomach ulcer recently and i'm taking Warfrin without any sort of protection for my stomach. I only got worried as i'd just read in the local paper that a man had died as he had the same problem that they hospital staff had overlooked the fact he had a stomach ulcer while taking Warfrin and ultimately bled into his stomach and died. So terrified it would happen to me i asked the gp, who said oh you should of been on protective medication for the day you were diagnosed with a dvt. Well why wasn't i?? How did my gp's and consultant and the Anti-Co-ag nurse all miss this simple fact?? how anyone survives is beyond me, thats twice now i could of died from simple neglect. First was obviously walking around with a dvt getting bigger and bigger daily for 6 weeks because no-one wanted to give me any preventative treatment even though hip surgery alone puts you in a high risk category, i was extremely lucky for none of that clot to break off and kill me, seen as this is extremely common!! Second i could of bled to death anytime in the 3 months i've had this dvt without any stomach protecting medication. Disgusting is how i see it, there's only so many times you can shrug off all these mistakes and put them down to bad luck. And did i mention our local hospital, is STAFFORD hospital and half of it is shut due to the novovirus, and you want to send me there, i don't think so, i don't have a death wish!!
So it's all just so depressing to be honest, still have a staple stuck inside the leg, in the scar bit. And yes i'm still on 2 crutches officially, although around the home or quick visits out i use 1 crutch, but don't have any appointments for x-rays until the 27th April.
And i'm still itchy, didn't get any help from the gp and i haven't got any help from the co-ag nurse either so i guess it's up to me to find out why my legs are so itchy?? On the side effects of warfrin there is a skin rash warning, and i have recently changed brand of warfrin so i will try to change my brand back and see if that makes me feel any better. And try not to scratch myself until i bleed as that wont be very helpful. xx
