Christmas and Op Prep

Well this is a first having a Christmas where I wasn't recovering from Surgery first, Normally.... well for the last four years since 2009 I have had Surgery prior to the Christmas run up, therefore always been hindered in the Present Shopping and of course the Cooking of the Dinner, and generally well just not been at my best due to pain or the painkillers themselves. So this year was Novel, firstly no Surgery, secondly I wasn't cooking either, we were all invited to my Mum's for the day. Yay!!

Dinner was amazing, I truly loved it. I think it was harder than I thought to leave the house and actually be dressed on Christmas Day (sounds bad, but always had been recovering so Lived in Pj's on this day) which meant kids did too. And of course we would all veg out in front of the Tv afterwards. It's different at other people's houses, even if relaxed you can't quite slob out as you would at home lol.

On the way home though, we passed the most Magickal and Wonderful Christmas Lights in a local village, it truly helped lift the spirits and help the Christmas feel in us, it's been a difficult Christmas time. These lights give you that Childhood wonder and amazement, and I can honestly say they really cheered me up.

Had a few family losses before Christmas so this Happy Time wasn't so Happy, More reflective and sobering to be honest. Been an emotional and exhausting time. Leaving little brain space for preparing myself for Surgery on the 8th Jan. Been run down and poorly and now with an infection, I can only hope the Anti-Biotic's work in time and the Surgery isn't cancelled.

If this last month with Family passing has taught me anything, Life is not to be wasted, took for granted and not lived to the fullest with what makes you happy. So as scary as this Surgery is, My head is looking much further in the future than that, I see me painfree and walking aidfree, limpfree and joining in on all those family activities.

So for Christmas I asked for all the little things that make Recovery much better, Soft warm Pj's, Slippers, Dressing Gown, Pants like Shorts (so they don't rub on scars) Socks, and lovely Bath stuff I can use in the sink or with Bath Board. Things small luxuries will help you feel Human afterwards. Onwards and Upwards to Op day and forwards to Recovery..... Roll on 2014
